Overhearing Poems

the nurse speaks

everyone's in pain
some have just learned to hide it
better than others.

the daughter speaks

don't argue with him
you're just egging him on more
let him die in peace

truth

the older I get
the more it's true
I can't finish a poem
without someone dying

lack truth when written
